Re: ''The worst night of the year''
A young family means I'm likely to be the only one up at midnight (my missus is usually tired and worn out, not that she's young and can't stay up - before anyone suggests!).

Tempted to go up my local social when everyone's gone to bed, but will just probably end up chucking on a movie I haven't seen that's been recommended on the thread here and get pissed up on the sofa watching that.

Fuck, I sound old.

New Year can be fun if at a good house party or exclusive invite only party/club.

Going out and mixing with plebs is for mugs.

Cheers Manuel, same to you.

We've got the grandchildren here at the moment and much as I love them, they wear the hell out of me and in any case, I am still working my way back to health after my Covid episode. So it'll be an early night for me but I've no doubt that I shall hear the fireworks so will take a moment to wish everyone a happy New Year and a better 2022 than 2021, and that we won't be saying the same thing yet again in a year's time.

Chim, have you ever been to the cartoon museum in London? It's a small place, down a side street very near the British Museum. Very interesting and amusing. I can't remember what the 'accessibility' is like for someone on crutches, though!

Re: ''The worst night of the year''
Well since our family Christmas day get together... we've now had 3 get togethers cancelled.... including a party and a stay over at mates farm house tonight (his daughter got the Moronic yesterday)... my missus been chest infectioned up since a fortnight ago.... got steadily worse in which it now resembles living with a californian Sea lion... thank god for the spare bed.... in her words ``this infection' is 100 times worst than the Covid she had 2 months ago... so that's a do round our house on the 27th that was pulled... another round another mates on 29th (family sickness/flu etc)... and now the Russell tonight... daughters birthday today... omicroned up in Reading... so that's a nice few days away in the New Forest she has had to put on back burner.... so... fuck it just had a word with a few mates and we are gonna meet up in a pub out in the sticks just to get the fuck out of the house for a bit of normality.... happy NYE yeah right...

May pop out early evening and have a beer with some friends as not seen anyone in last three weeks. Expect to be indoors watching shit TV come midnight.

Re: ''The worst night of the year''
It's the kind of enforced fun that I loathe, so definitely indoors, more than likely a kip before midnight. Hopefully next year is better for us all though, so i wish all of you a happy and healthy 2022.

Ha! Gin lane and beer street are a couple of my favourite pictures. If West Ham had been around in Hogarth's time he'd have definitely supported us!

Re: ''The worst night of the year''
Never really understood NY as just the same as every other midnight to me.

Doesn't stop me roaring through a crate of cider and bottle of sambuca though, so have a good one all.

I’ve never had a bad night out on NYE.

The trick is to stick to your local and get plenty of gear up your nose.

Happy new year!

Brilliant picture Ratch which encapsulates everything I hate about NYE.

I hope you have a very good new year my West Ham brethren, each and every one of you x

Re: ''The worst night of the year''
Just another night for me now. Very different to when Mum and all her family were alive as,being Glaswegians, they took it all very seriously. Some great family party's over tge tears to look back on but tonight,I'll probably end up readinv a book if the line up on Jools Holland isnt to my taste.

Re: ''The worst night of the year''
The wife and I both have Norovirus - so overnight was definitely the worst night of the year! Feel utterly drained now (funnily enough), so suspect I’ll be sound asleep by the time the clock hits midnight.

Happy New Year to you though Manuel
